Alleged French Swindler's Waterfront Miami Beach Home Sells Out of Receivership to Attorney-Managed Company
The waterfront home of accused French embezzler Aurélie Bard sells for $18.5 million out of receivership to attorney Charles Ratner's company.
The infamous waterfront mansion owned by French national Aurélie Bard, who has been accused of embezzling over 100 million euros, has finally been sold out of receivership to a company managed by attorney Charles Ratner.
The 6,924-square-foot, five-bedroom, six-bathroom home located at 6580 Allison Road in Miami Beach was sold by receiver Michael Dunn for a whopping $18.5 million.
According to court documents, the sale was approved by Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Daryl Trawick, who is overseeing the receivership case. The property was initially listed for $25.5 million in 2019, but the sale price was negotiated down due to the home needing "significant repairs and renovations."
Ratner's company, which remains unnamed, beat out multiple other bidders for the luxurious property, which boasts a pool, movie theater, and stunning waterfront views.
"It's a beautiful piece of property," Ratner told The Real Deal. "We're happy with the outcome and we're looking forward to moving forward and seeing what we can do with the property."
The sale of the home is just one of the latest developments in Bard's ongoing legal battles. The French national was arrested in Miami in 2019 and charged with embezzling over 100 million euros from her former employer, French tycoon Xavier Niel.
Despite her legal troubles, Bard managed to live a lavish lifestyle in Miami Beach, owning multiple properties including the recently sold waterfront mansion. She
