Billionaire Patrick Dovigi drops $15M on another Sunset Islands house
Waste management mogul Patrick Dovigi adds to his Miami Beach estate with a $15 million purchase of a waterfront property on Sunset Island III.
Waste management tycoon Patrick Dovigi has expanded his Miami Beach real estate portfolio with the purchase of a $15 million waterfront property on Sunset Island III. According to records, Dovigi's company Dovfam Sunset LLC acquired the property, located at 1601 West 24th Street, in an off-market deal from Franck and Agnes Cohen.
This latest purchase adds to Dovigi's already impressive Sunset Islands estate, which includes an 11,300-square-foot waterfront mansion that he bought for $27.5 million in April. With these two properties combined, Dovigi's estate now spans 1.2 acres.
Dovigi, who made his fortune as the founder of Toronto-based waste management company GFL, is no stranger to big real estate deals. In 2018, GFL merged with American trash giant Waste Industries, solidifying Dovigi's position as one of the largest waste management players in North America.
In addition to his business success, Dovigi is also a former professional hockey player, adding to his already impressive and diverse resume.
