Cain International Close to Acquiring CIM's Dominick Hotel in Manhattan
CIM Group is once again trying to sell the former Trump Soho hotel, with Cain International in talks for the $175 million+ deal.
CIM Group, a Los Angeles-based real estate firm, is nearing a deal to sell the Dominick hotel in Manhattan to Cain International, a British real estate company. This is not the first time CIM has tried to sell the property, after years of unsuccessful attempts to offload the former Trump Soho hotel.
The Dominick hotel, located at 246 Spring Street, has been a controversial property since its opening in 2008. The hotel was originally developed by CIM Group in partnership with the Trump Organization, but in recent years, the hotel has faced financial troubles and legal issues.
CIM Group purchased the remaining stake in the hotel from the Trump Organization in 2017, and has been trying to sell it ever since. According to sources, the deal with Cain International is reportedly close to the $175 million mark.
"CIM Group is once again trying to sell the Dominick hotel, with Cain International in talks for the deal," a source familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.
The potential sale of the Dominick hotel comes after CIM Group's recent sale of another Manhattan property, the Parker New York hotel, for $420 million. The firm has been actively trying to offload its New York City assets in recent years.
