Developer CityPads Plans to Build 144 Apartments in Mid-City Near I-10 Freeway
CityPads is moving forward with their plan to build 144 apartments in Mid-City, near the I-10 Freeway, replacing four existing homes with a seven-story building and 39-car garage.
CityPads, a well-known developer, has filed an application with the Planning Department to build new housing at 8939 W. Kramerwood Place in Mid-City. The project, which will replace four existing homes, will consist of a seven-story building with 144 apartments and a 39-car garage.
The new building will offer a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom units, with 24 units designated as affordable housing. This on-site affordable housing component makes the project eligible for streamlined approvals and development bonuses through the citywide housing incentive program.
The Albert Group Architects has been selected to design the podium-type building, which will also feature a rooftop amenity deck.
The Kramerwood site is located just one block away from another project recently approved by CityPads at 8931 Helms Place, which will include a similar 72-unit apartment building. The developer also has plans for a 132-unit apartment complex near the North/Clyborn CTA Station in Chicago.
