Developer Revises Plans for Downtown Glendale Hotel, Adding More Rooms
Glendale's under-construction Hotel Indigo is getting a boost in size with an additional 12 guest rooms.
An under-construction hotel in Downtown Glendale is undergoing revisions, as VK Group seeks to increase the size of the Hotel Indigo at 515 N. Central Avenue. According to a document released by the City's Planning Division, the developer is proposing to add 12 guest rooms to the previously approved seven-story, 142-room hotel.
The original plans for the Hotel Indigo were approved in 2020 and included amenities such as a pool deck, fitness room, meeting rooms, and underground garage. The building, designed by AC Martin, features a U-shaped footprint with a street-fronting courtyard and exterior finishes of brick, stone, and metal.
The new revisions, submitted on August 13, would increase the building's floor area by approximately 3,201 square feet, bringing the total number of guest rooms to 174. The project site is located just south of another proposed development - a two-tower, 858-unit apartment complex by Onni Group at 601 N. Brand Boulevard.
The Hotel Indigo is not the only location for the chain in the Los Angeles area, with a 350-key outpost planned for the Metropolis development in Downtown Los Angeles.
