Developer Ronnie Fieg's Private Club to Include Members-Only Erewhon in New York's Kith Ivy Neighborhood
Buying a smoothie at Kith Ivy's private padel club will require a membership to Erewhon.
New York's Kith Ivy neighborhood is about to get a bit more exclusive with the addition of a private padel club owned by developer Ronnie Fieg. However, it seems that membership at this club will come with a catch - a requirement to also be a member of Erewhon, the upscale health food store.
This news was first reported by Emily Sundberg in her Feed Me newsletter, who shared floor plans for the club's location at 120 Leroy Street. The plans revealed that Erewhon will be located next to the Living Room, a restaurant that will also be part of the club.
It's no secret that Erewhon is known for its high prices and exclusive clientele, so it's not surprising that it will be a part of Fieg's private club. However, this decision has raised eyebrows and sparked criticism from some in the community.
Some have questioned the need for a private club to include such a high-end store, especially in an already affluent neighborhood. Others have speculated that this move is a way for Fieg to attract a certain type of member to his club.
In response to the controversy, Fieg stated, "I wanted to create a space that would cater to the needs and desires of my members, and having Erewhon as part of that is just another way to elevate the experience."
While the inclusion of Erewhon in Fieg's private club may seem like a bold move, it remains to be seen how it will be received by members and the surrounding community.
