Eight New Homes Replace Mar Vista Triplexes
Mar Vista triplexes demolished to make way for eight new homes.
A pair of mid-century triplexes in Mar Vista have been demolished to make way for a new development of townhome-style apartments. The project, underway since mid-2024 at 12032-12038 Washington Place, will consist of two four-story buildings, each featuring four homes for a total of eight units. Both buildings will also include rooftop decks, providing outdoor living space for residents.
The homes are being designed by Stockton Architects, according to city records. The firm has previously worked on similar projects in the area, including the nearby Eight East Homes.
The site is owned by Culver City-based 1340 Broadway, LLC, which is managed by Benjamin Donel. This entity has been involved in other real estate projects in the area, including the development of Eight East Homes.
The demolition of the 1950s triplexes and the construction of the new townhome-style apartments is part of a larger trend in the Mar Vista neighborhood. Over the past decade, several similar projects have replaced older buildings along the Washington Place corridor.
