Grant King's Relevant Group Faces Foreclosure on Dream Hollywood Hotel
Lender moves to foreclose on Grant King's Dream Hollywood hotel, citing over $30 million in unpaid debt.
A UCC foreclosure auction is scheduled for mid-October, according to a notice reviewed by The Real Deal. The LCP Group, a lender, is seeking to foreclose on the equity interests in the 178-key hotel owned by a company connected to Grant King's embattled Relevant Group.
King, who heads Relevant Group, told TRD that the company is currently working on a loan recapitalization and extension with the lender. However, Relevant Group has faced numerous challenges in raising funds for the 10-story hotel located at 6417 Selma Avenue.
As TRD previously reported, Relevant Group raised hundreds of millions of dollars for the hotel, but the lender alleges that there is still over $30 million in unpaid debt. This has led to the lender seeking to foreclose on the property and potentially take control of the hotel.
The Dream Hollywood hotel was once billed as a luxury destination, but it has faced numerous setbacks and delays. Now, the fate of this project and Grant King's Relevant Group hang in the balance as the foreclosure auction looms in mid-October.
