Hollywood Developer's Mixed-Use Project Approved on Melrose Avenue

City officials give the green light to a six-story mixed-use development in Hollywood.

The Hollywood developer, Hollywood Melrose LLC, has received approval from city officials to move forward with their plans for a six-story mixed-use development at 6727 Melrose Avenue. The project will replace a vacant commercial structure and bring new housing and retail space to the area.

The proposed development will feature 70 residential units, including eight units designated as affordable housing. The ground floor will include 2,000 square feet of retail space, with the remaining floors dedicated to residential units. The project also includes a rooftop deck and a two-level subterranean parking garage with 75 parking spaces.

While the project was met with some opposition from local residents concerned about increased traffic and parking issues, city officials ultimately approved the development, citing the need for more housing in the area.

"This project will not only bring much-needed housing to Hollywood, but it will also revitalize a vacant lot and add to the vibrancy of the neighborhood," said a representative from the city's planning department.
