Ian Schrager Puts Westchester Estate on the Market for $7.5 Million

Boutique hotel pioneer, Ian Schrager, surprises with listing of his Bedford Corners estate.

Studio 54 co-founder and real estate mogul, Ian Schrager, has put his Westchester County estate on the market for $7.5 million, according to Curbed. The property, located in Bedford Corners, boasts a neoclassical home with ivy-covered walls and is situated on 12 acres of land.

Schrager, known for his work in boutique hotels, purchased the five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom estate in 2014 for $4.9 million. The listing notes that the property includes manicured lawns, stone walls, and a charming pool house.

While Schrager is typically associated with sleek, concrete condos, this property showcases his versatility as a real estate developer. The 1936-built home has been refreshed with white walls and dark floors, adding a modern touch to its traditional design.

The listing also highlights the renovation that the Schrager family undertook in 2014, further emphasizing the pedigree of the property and its famous owner.

"The year we bought it, we did a gut renovation," Schrager said in an interview with Architectural Digest in 2018. "We didn't change the facade, but we made it more comfortable, more luxurious."

Despite the charms and history of the estate, the high listing price has raised some eyebrows in the real estate world. However, with Schrager's name attached, it is sure to attract attention from potential buyers.
