Los Angeles Sparks to Build Practice Facility and Headquarters in El Segundo
The Los Angeles Sparks, three-time WNBA champions, will build a state-of-the-art practice facility and headquarters in El Segundo's Continental Park complex, with amenities including two regulation-size courts, weight and training rooms, and dedicated nap rooms.
The Los Angeles Sparks, a professional women's basketball team and three-time WNBA champions, have announced their plans to build a new practice facility and headquarters in the seaside city of El Segundo. The facility will be located at Continental Development's Continental Park complex, and will be the first of its kind dedicated solely to the Sparks.
The development, designed by renowned architecture firm Gensler, is estimated to cost $150 million and is set to open in 2027. It will span 55,000 square feet and will be equipped with top-of-the-line amenities for the team's players and staff.
According to Commercial Observer, the facility will include two regulation-size courts, modern weight and training rooms, hydrotherapy and spa suites, an outdoor pool, wellness spaces, and even dedicated nap rooms. In addition, the Sparks' business headquarters will also be housed in the new facility.
This move to El Segundo places the Sparks in good company, as the city is already home to several other professional sports teams, including the NFL's Los Angeles Rams and the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers. The Sparks' new facility will undoubtedly provide them with a state-of-the-art training and practice space, giving them a competitive edge in the league.
