LVMH plans 30K sf Tiffany store in latest Rodeo Drive proposal
A new Tiffany & Co. store is coming to Rodeo Drive as part of LVMH's expansion on the iconic street.
A new Tiffany & Co. flagship store is set to be built on Rodeo Drive in LVMH's latest power move on the iconic street. The luxury conglomerate, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE, plans to construct the new store at 360 North Rodeo Drive, which is currently occupied by the old Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel.
Bloomberg reported that LVMH has also submitted plans for a new Louis Vuitton store and adjacent campus designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry. With this major expansion, the Paris-based company will be increasing its presence on Rodeo Drive, investing over $900 million in 12 leased or owned stores on the ritzy shopping destination.
LVMH's aggressive expansion plans have stirred up controversy, with some critics questioning the need for such a large presence on Rodeo Drive. However, the company remains undeterred, with sources saying that LVMH is determined to create a "shopping experience like no other" on the prestigious street.
"We see Rodeo Drive as the epicenter of luxury retail in Los Angeles and this expansion is a testament to our commitment to provide our customers with the best shopping experience possible," said an LVMH spokesperson.
The news of LVMH's plans for Rodeo Drive comes after the company's recent acquisition of Tiffany & Co. in a $16.2 billion deal. With the addition of a new Tiffany store, LVMH is solidifying its dominance in the luxury retail market.
