LVMH Plans to Replace Fifth Ave Flagship with Massive 25-Story Building in Manhattan's Plaza District

French retailer LVMH files plans for a 25-story, 148,000 square foot flagship store in Manhattan's Plaza District, towering over the previous 20-story, 91,000 square foot building.

French luxury retailer LVMH is taking its iconic Fifth Avenue flagship store to new heights, with plans to replace the existing building with a massive 25-story property in Manhattan's Plaza District. According to Crain's, LVMH filed an application with the Department of City Planning for a 25-story building at 1 East 57th Street, standing at a towering 485 feet tall.

The new building will span 148,000 square feet, significantly larger than the current property LVMH is in the process of demolishing. The previous building stood at 20 stories and spanned a comparatively meager 91,000 square feet. This upgrade will not only add five additional stories, but also increase the square footage by over 50%.

With its prime location on Fifth Avenue, the new flagship store is sure to attract a wealth of high-end shoppers. The upgraded property will feature a 10-story retail space, as well as space for offices and a luxury hotel. This move solidifies LVMH's commitment to the Plaza District and its position as a top luxury retailer in New York City.

"We are excited to bring a bigger and better Louis Vuitton flagship store to the Plaza District," said a spokesperson for LVMH. "This new building will not only showcase our luxury goods, but also add to the vibrant and upscale atmosphere of Fifth Avenue."
