The Willow, a highly anticipated 19-story residential building at 201 East 23rd Street in Gramercy, has revealed progress on its brick façade installation. The 210-foot-tall structure, designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by Naftali Group, will offer 69 units ranging from one to three bedrooms. Additionally, the building will feature a luxurious four-bedroom penthouse on its upper levels and ground-floor retail space.
The development is strategically located at the corner of East 23rd Street and Third Avenue, making it a highly coveted property for both residents and retailers. With its prime location in the bustling neighborhood of Gramercy, The Willow is set to become the new crown jewel of Naftali Group's impressive portfolio.
Despite its progress, the development has not been without its fair share of controversy. In 2018, the project faced opposition from local community groups who argued that the building's height and design did not align with the character of the neighborhood. However, their concerns were ultimately overruled by the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission, allowing the project to move forward.
As the façade installation continues, the development is expected to be completed and ready for occupancy by the end of 2022. With its prime location, luxurious amenities, and stunning design, The Willow is sure to be a highly sought-after address for those looking to call Gramercy home.
