Nathan Berman and David Werner Partner Up Again for Midtown East Conversion at 675 Third Avenue
Metro Loft Management and David Werner Real Estate Investments are moving forward with plans for a 464-unit residential conversion at 675 Third Avenue in Midtown East, less than six months after acquiring the site from the Durst Organization for $100 million.
Real estate heavyweights Nathan Berman and David Werner are teaming up once again for their next big project in Midtown East. Metro Loft Management and David Werner Real Estate Investments have filed plans with the Department of Buildings for a 464-unit residential conversion at 675 Third Avenue.
The project, which spans 321,000 square feet, will also include retail space on the ground floor. This news comes less than six months after the duo acquired the site from the Durst Organization for a whopping $100 million.
While previous reports suggested the building would contain roughly 430 units, the latest plans call for a more expansive 464-unit layout. This move shows the developers' commitment to transforming the property into a lucrative residential hub in the heart of Midtown East.
Despite facing some pushback from community members and local officials, Berman and Werner remain determined to move forward with their plans. As Berman stated in an interview with Crain's, "We're aware of the challenges, but we're also aware of the value in the property. We think it's a great site in a great neighborhood."
While some may question the motives behind such a controversial project, it's clear that Berman and Werner are focused on the potential profits. With their track record of successful conversions and strategic partnerships, it's no surprise that they are willing to take on such a large and ambitious project in Midtown East.
Only time will tell if their plans come to fruition, but one thing is for sure - Nathan
