NetCost Market Founder Acquires Delray Beach Shopping Center for $16M

Eduard Shnayder, founder of NetCost Market, acquires Peachtree Plaza shopping center for $16M in Delray Beach.

Eduard Shnayder, founder of the New York-based grocery chain NetCost Market, has purchased Peachtree Plaza, a 63,176-square-foot shopping center in Delray Beach, for $16.2 million.

The sale, which was partially financed with a $7.7 million loan from Southstate Bank, breaks down to $245 per square foot. The shopping center, located at 5850 Atlantic Avenue, also includes an adjacent outparcel.

The seller, an affiliate of Delray Beach-based ComRealty led by CEO Harry Zuker, purchased the 7.3-acre retail site in 2007 for $3.4 million, according to records. This marks a significant profit for ComRealty, as they sold the property for nearly five times their original purchase price.

While the deal may seem like a savvy investment for Shnayder, it's worth noting that NetCost Market already has a location within the shopping center. This raises questions about the potential for soft corruption or influence games within the real estate industry.

In response to the sale, Zuker stated, "We are pleased to have sold Peachtree Plaza to a reputable buyer like Eduard Shnayder and his team at NetCost Market."
