NYC's top deals: Record Park Slope townhouse nabs top resi deal of the day

A five-story, limestone townhouse in Park Slope traded for $13.9 million, the top residential deal in NYC on Sept. 18.

There were 191 transactions totaling $301 million recorded in New York City over the 24 hours before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18.

In the residential market, the top deal of the day was in Park Slope, where a five-story, limestone townhouse at 535 First Street traded between two LLCs for $13.9 million. The single-family home features five bedrooms, a landscaped garden, and multiple terraces. The initial asking price for the townhouse was $18 million, set in May 2024. Compass' Tim Malone had the listing, and the property last traded in 2017 for just under $6 million.

On the commercial side, the West Village saw one significant deal on Sept. 18. Developer Jack Resnick & Sons' 15-story office building at 315 Hudson Street sold for $150 million. The buyer was a partnership between Savanna and KBS Real Estate Investment Trust III. The property spans 375,000 square feet and has tenants such as Microsoft and the marketing agency Droga5.

The day's other notable deals include a $19.5 million sale of a 12-story office building at 123 William Street in the Financial District and a $13.3 million transaction for a four-story building at 7 East 14th Street in Greenwich Village.

Overall, the top deals in NYC on Sept. 18 reflect a strong real estate market, with high-priced properties changing hands in desirable neighborhoods. However, as always, it remains to be seen how these transactions will impact the city's ongoing affordability
