Obama's Old Haunt Lists for $75M on Lake Washington
Seattle's priciest listing of the year is a Georgian-style mansion with a presidential past.
A waterfront mansion on Lake Washington has hit the market for $75 million, making it the most expensive residential listing in Seattle so far this year. The Georgian-style mansion, located at an undisclosed address, has quite the history, having hosted former President Barack Obama in the past. According to the Seattle Times, this estate is also the second-most expensive home for sale in the state of Washington.
The property was originally purchased in 2005 by philanthropist and founder of Seattle-based commercial real estate firm Blume Company Real Estate, Bruce Blume, for nearly $7.8 million. The following year, Blume tore down the existing Tudor-style home and built the current mansion in its place.
The 21,030-square-foot estate boasts seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a private beach, and stunning views of Lake Washington. It also features a wine cellar, indoor pool, and a dock with space for multiple boats.
In addition to its presidential history and luxurious amenities, the estate offers complete privacy as it is located on a secluded, gated street.
"This is one of those special properties that only comes along once in a lifetime," said listing agent Tere Foster of Team Foster at Compass. "It's a grand estate with unparalleled views and amenities, and it's incredibly private."
