"Palm Beach County Approves "Micro-Unit" Apartments for Post-Grad Residents, Developer Kurt Jetta Celebrates Victory"

"Neighborlee Living's micro-unit project, Neighborlee Living Westgate, gets green light from Palm Beach County for affordable multifamily units, targeting recent college graduates."

The Palm Beach County Commission has given the go-ahead for Neighborlee Living's "micro-unit" apartment project, Neighborlee Living Westgate, led by developer Kurt Jetta. The four-story, 38-unit affordable multifamily project will feature units as small as 240 square feet and is planned for a 0.7-acre site at 2818 Westgate Avenue in unincorporated Palm Beach County near West Palm Beach. The project falls within the jurisdiction of the Westgate Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), making it subject to their growth regulations.

Jetta, who celebrated the victory at the county's zoning hearing on Thursday, has his sights set on recent college graduates as the target renters for the project. Micro-units, which are gaining popularity in the development pipeline, cater to the demand for affordable housing among young professionals.

"We're excited to offer these micro-units to post-grads who are just starting out in their careers and need an affordable housing option in this area," said Jetta.

The project has faced some opposition from local residents, who voiced concerns about the impact on the community and the potential for overcrowding in the area. However, the county commission ultimately approved the project, citing the need for more affordable housing options in the area.

Despite the controversy, Neighborlee Living Westgate is moving forward and is expected to be completed in the near future. Jetta is confident that the demand for micro-units will only continue to grow, making this project a valuable addition to the community.
