"Paramount Homes Management Owner Frank Lumaj Files Permits for Controversial University Heights Development"

"Permits filed for six-story residential building near 183rd Street subway station, with Paramount Homes Management owner at the helm."

Controversial developer Frank Lumaj, known for his aggressive tactics in the New York real estate scene, has filed permits for a new residential building in University Heights, The Bronx. The six-story building, located at 2290 Aqueduct Avenue East between North Street and Evelyn Place, is set to be built near the 183rd Street subway station, providing easy access to the 4 train for future tenants.

Lumaj, who heads Paramount Homes Management, has a history of pushing the boundaries when it comes to development projects. In 2018, he was involved in a lawsuit with the City of New York for illegally demolishing a historic building in Williamsburg. Despite this, Lumaj remains a prominent figure in the industry, with deep pockets and connections to make his projects a reality.

The proposed development in University Heights has already faced backlash from community members and local officials. Councilman Fernando Cabrera, who represents the area, expressed concerns about the project's impact on the neighborhood. In a statement, he said, "We don't need another luxury building that caters to outsiders, we need affordable housing for our community."

Despite these criticisms, Lumaj remains undeterred. In an interview with The Real Deal, he stated, "I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to make money. And this development will do just that." He also emphasized his close relationship with the city's Department of Buildings, which has approved the permits for the project.
