Pino's Widow and Daughters Sue Mistress Over Alleged Fraud in Century Midtown Transfers
Pino's widow and daughters file lawsuit against mistress over fraudulent transfers before and after his suicide.
The late developer Sergio Pino's widow, Tatiana, and their daughters have filed a new lawsuit against Pino's longtime mistress, claiming she was involved in fraudulent transfers of properties in the days leading up to and following his suicide. Pino, a prominent South Florida homebuilder and founder of Century Homebuilders Group, died in July 2024 after being accused by the FBI of attempting to murder his wife through poisoning and hiring hitmen.
The lawsuit alleges that Pino transferred properties in Miami's Century Midtown neighborhood to his mistress, Maria Patricia "Patty" Sierra, as well as to her family members and associates. The transfers were made in the days before and after Pino's suicide, which occurred as FBI agents were closing in on raiding his Coral Gables home.
According to the lawsuit, Sierra and her associates were aware of Pino's financial troubles and took advantage of the situation by acquiring the properties at below-market prices. The transfers involved properties worth millions of dollars, including a 1.25-acre site that was slated for a mixed-use development.
The lawsuit also alleges that Pino and Sierra had a "long-term romantic relationship" and that Pino had been financially supporting her for years. Sierra's attorney has denied the allegations, stating that she had no knowledge of Pino's financial issues or the transfers.
The lawsuit is the latest in a series of legal battles between Pino's family and Sierra. In 2019, Pino's daughters filed a separate lawsuit against Sierra, claiming she had been financially exploiting their father and causing him to incur millions of dollars in debt.
