Plans Revealed for Luis Vuitton's 485-Foot Flagship Tower at 1 East 57th Street in Midtown, Manhattan
LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton plans to expand their flagship store in Midtown Manhattan into a 25-story, 485-foot-tall tower.
New diagrams have been released for the site of Louis Vuitton's temporarily closed flagship store at 1 East 57th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. The luxury brand's parent company, LVMH, has proposed a vertical expansion of the current occupant, creating a 25-story tower that will rise 485 feet tall. The tower will be located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 57th Street, right in the heart of Billionaires' Row.
The plans for the tower include luxury retail space on the lower levels, with residential units above. The current flagship store will also be renovated and included in the new tower. This expansion project is part of LVMH's strategy to expand their presence in the high-end retail market, particularly in New York City.
"We are excited to continue our growth in the luxury market with this expansion of our flagship store in Midtown Manhattan," said a spokesperson for LVMH. "This tower will be a stunning addition to the iconic Fifth Avenue skyline and will offer our customers a unique shopping and living experience."
The project has already faced some opposition from community members and preservationists who are concerned about the impact of such a tall tower on the historic character of the neighborhood. However, LVMH has stated that they will work closely with city officials and community groups to address any concerns and ensure that the tower will be a positive addition to the neighborhood.
This latest project from LVMH joins a list of other high-end retailers expanding their presence in New York City, including Nordstrom and Saks
