Property Owner Seeks to Replace Westwood Home with Six Apartments
A 1930s single-family home in Westwood will be demolished to make way for a three-story apartment building with six three-bedroom units.
A new three-story apartment building is set to replace a 1930s single-family home in Westwood, according to an application filed with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.
The property, located at 10621 Wilkins Avenue, is owned by Ishagh Djavaheri, who plans to construct a contemporary low-rise building with six three-bedroom apartments and parking for 14 vehicles.
The project is being designed by AFCO Design and is subject to a design review board hearing. Similar developments have been proposed for other locations along Wilkins Avenue in recent years.
"We're excited to bring a new, modern building to the Westwood community," says AFCO Development Co., a subsidiary of Seed Group, which is leading the project. "We believe this will be a great addition to the neighborhood."
City officials have not yet set a date for the design review board hearing.
