Vornado and Rudin Secure Approval for 1,600-Foot Supertall Tower in Midtown East
Vornado and Rudin's 1,600-foot supertall office tower in Midtown East gets unanimous approval from the NYC Council.
On September 25, the New York City Council greenlit the construction of 350 Park Avenue, a massive 1,600-foot supertall office tower in Midtown East. Designed by Foster + Partners and developed by Vornado Realty Trust and Rudin, the 62-story building will offer 1.8 million square feet of Class A office space and accommodate up to 6,000 employees. Notably, Citadel and Citadel Securities, companies owned by billionaire Ken Griffin, will serve as the anchor tenants and occupy at least 850,000 square feet of the building. Located between East 51st and 52nd Streets, the 53,000-square-foot property has faced some pushback from community groups and preservationists due to its height and scale in the neighborhood. However, with the Council's unanimous approval, it seems that Vornado and Rudin's influence prevailed in securing the green light for their supertall project.
