"Worker critically injured at Estate's North Miami Beach construction site"

"Worker critically injured after falling at Estate Companies' apartment tower construction site in North Miami Beach."

A worker was critically injured on Monday after falling at Estate Companies' apartment tower construction site in North Miami Beach. According to authorities, the incident occurred at 16375 Biscayne Boulevard, where two men were injured. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a medical call and found that one of the men had been electrocuted, causing the second man to fall from a scaffolding approximately nine stories high. The city of North Miami Beach Police Department also responded to the scene.

The man who suffered an electric shock was in stable condition, while the man who fell remains in critical condition. The cause of the fall is still under investigation. However, this is not the first incident at the construction site. In 2019, a worker was injured after being hit by a falling object at the same location.

The construction site is part of Estate Companies' larger development project, which includes a 19-story apartment tower and a 17-story office building. The project has faced opposition from community members and environmental groups due to its potential impact on the surrounding area.

In response to the incident, a spokesperson for Estate Companies stated, "Our thoughts are with the injured worker and his family. We are fully cooperating with authorities as they investigate the cause of the accident." The spokesperson also mentioned that safety is a top priority for the company and they have rigorous safety protocols in place at all of their construction sites.
